Oil workers rescued a seal pup

On 29 March 2021, NCOC employees found a one-month-old seal pup on the Kazakh coast of the Caspian Sea near Bautino village and referred to the Caspian Seal Research and Rehabilitation Center. Upon prompt arrival, the Centre experts examined the pup and provided emergency veterinary aid. It was in critical condition, unable to move and was severely emaciated. Instead of 10-12 kilograms the pup was supposed to weigh at his age, it weighed a little over four. Now the pup will undergo a long-term, at least 2-month-long, treatment and rehabilitation at the Center. During this time, it will receive medication and proper nutrition.

We believe that the seal is in good hands. We wish him a speedy recovery and safe return home!
