On May 12, 2021, the Russian-Turkmen Web-conference “Ecosystem of the Caspian Sea: State, Preservation and Prospects of Cooperation” will be held. Russian co-organizers of the conference are the Council for Science and Innovation of the Caspian Sea and the Russian Committee for UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Programme. The conference is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation, the Academy of Sciences of the Russian Federation and the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.
The goal of this international event is to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in the scientific, technical and innovation sphere between Russia and Turkmenistan, defined at the First Caspian Economic Forum.
During the conference, it is planned to discuss issues of ensuring the environmental safety of the Caspian Sea, taking into account climatic, anthropogenic and geological risks and working in other areas of joint activities. After the sessions and discussion of the reports, online negotiations will be held with the heads of departments of ministries, state corporations, scientific and other institutions. Participants will consider the prospects for research, development and implementation of joint projects, the introduction of innovative technologies in order to preserve the Caspian Sea ecosystem.
