About Nature Reserve for Caspian Seals in Kazakhstan

According to the Press Service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a number of measures are being taken in the country to preserve Caspian seals. As part of the execution of President Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev’s instructions, a draft scientific justification on the nature reserve has been prepared (executor Kazakhstan Agency of Applied Ecology, LLP; financing of NCOC N.V. – Kaspika’s note), including the most important habitats of the red-listed Caspian seal in the Kazakhstan waters of the Northern and Middle Caspian. It is planned to develop a technical and economic justification on the nature reserve in 2023, and until July 2024 – to register the legal entity of this protected area.
