Scientists from Moscow are finding out reasons for the death of seals

On the Caspian coast, several dozen dead seals have been found (the species are listed in the Red Data Book of Russia). A delegation of scientists from Moscow will find out the reasons for the death of Caspian seals.

According to experts, now there are 2 main versions of the death of seals. The first – the water area is polluted, the second – the animals got into the fishing nets. According to the scientists, two of the eight examined seals were damaged by poaching nets. All examined animals died from asphyxia – they drowned.

Scientists from Moscow are taking samples of biological material from dead animals. The results of their analyses will be ready only at the beginning of 2021.
