A carrier of seal meat was detained in Atyrau

On December 4, in Atyrau (Kazakhstan), on Azattyk Avenue, a Toyota Prado car was stopped near the People’s Court building, in which law enforcement officers found 32 kg of sturgeon and 5 kg of the Caspian seal meat. The carrier of this poaching was a 30-year-old local resident. According to the offender, he bought these products from unknown persons. On this fact, a pre-trial investigation was initiated under Article 339 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Illegal handling of rare and endangered, as well as forbidden to use species of plants and animals, their parts or derivatives.”
