Surgeons were rescued, but a Caspian seal could not be saved
On April 26, specialists from the Tupkaragan and Buzachinsky departments of the Mangystau Regional Territorial Inspectorate for Forestry and Wildlife conducted the raid “Bekire 2019” in the Caspian Sea. 250 meter of akhanovy fishing nets were found. It was not possible to detain poachers in the Kazakhstan water area.
‘13 live sturgeons with a total weight of 78 kg were released into the sea. There was a Caspian seal in the nets, but, unfortunately, it was already dead,’ said Habib Alikhadzhiev, the Head of the Buzachinsky Department of the Mangystau Regional Territorial Inspectorate for Forestry and Wildlife.
