4 Caspian seals and 87 sturgeons were seized
With the aim of suppressing poaching and protecting bioresources in the Caspian Sea, the second stage of operational preventive measures (SOPM-2017) is being taken by Kazakhstan border guards. Over the weekend, servicemen of the regional coastguard management have seized four Caspian seals and 87 sturgeons from poachers, fishing net with the total length of 7,000 meters, and 1 motor boat. A poacher has been detained. Live fish (69 pieces) and 4 Caspian seals have been released back to the sea.
